Baracuta

Baracuta Jackets are one of Britain’s greatest contributions to menswear. The G9 is THE original Harrington Jacket, much copied but the definitive is only made by Baracuta. We’ve been dressing icons & legends in our G9 jacket since 1937, from McQueen, Elvis & Sinatra to Liam Gallagher and Daniel Craig.

The G9 earned the nickname Harrington because it was worn by the character Rodney Harrington (played by Ryan ONeal) in the 1960s television programme Peyton Place.

Baracuta started making the famous G9 in the 1930s. In the 50s Baracuta expanded into America & Canada which helped Baracuta hit the silver screen.

Elvis Presley popularised the G9 when he wore it in his 1958 movie ‘King Creole’. Frank Sinatra wears his G9 in 1966 move ‘Assault on a Queen’. The ‘king of cool’ AKA Steve McQueen, was also an avid fan of the G9 and was photographed wearing it on the front cover of Life Magazine and in his 1968 movie ‘The Thomas Crown Affair’.

Baracuta continues dressing icons & legends, and has strong links in the music industry with Liam Gallagher, Blur stars Damon Albarn & Graham Coxon, Razorlight, Jamie T and Pete Doherty all donning the famous G9 Harrington Jacket in recent times. The list goes on, from Hollywood Star Martin Freeman to football legend Thierry Henry. Even the latest James Bond, Daniel Craig, has his very own G9!
